Join Manor Farm as our Senior Health & Safety Officer and help shape a strong, practical safety culture across our busy food manufacturing site.
The role
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will partner with managers, supervisors, engineering teams and employee safety representatives to identify hazards, strengthen controls and drive compliance. This is a hands-on role with real influence across day-to-day operations.
Working pattern
Sunday day shift, Monday–Wednesday evening shifts and Thursday day shift. Flexibility is required to meet operational needs.
What you’ll be doing
Support operational teams to meet health, safety and welfare requirements.
Review and update risk assessments, SOPs and safe working practices.
Carry out inspections and unscheduled audits, track actions and ensure timely close-out.
Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, complete root-cause analysis and maintain accurate case records.
Monitor trends, metrics and KPIs, providing clear updates to the Health & Safety Manager.
Coordinate emergency preparedness, evacuation drills and fire safety activities.
Monitor PPE, contractor, workplace transport and behaviour-based safety compliance.
Deliver manual handling training and support site safety communications.
Promote a positive safety culture through practical coaching, constructive challenge and collaboration.
Support relevant site systems, including access cards, pallet truck tracking, locker and CCTV management in line with company policies and GDPR.
What you’ll bring
A degree or diploma in environmental health and safety, occupational safety or a related discipline.
Several years’ health and safety experience, ideally within a fast-moving manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Strong working knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation, standards and best practice.
Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, audits, corrective actions and safety reporting.
Confident communication and influencing skills, with the ability to coach and constructively challenge at all levels.
A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to change.
Strong organisation, problem-solving, analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
