Engineering Stock Controller / Stores Person
Location: Shercock, County Cavan
Manor Farm is seeking a highly organised and proactive Engineering Stock Controller/Stores Person to undertake the day-to-day running of our Engineering Stores. This is a key role in ensuring our production floor operates smoothly, with the right parts available at the right time. You’ll work closely with the Engineering Stores & Procurement Manager, Site Engineering Manager, Engineering Technicians, and our supplier network to keep everything moving efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised stores environment
- Work directly with suppliers to place orders and resolve delivery or invoice issues
- Receive, inspect and verify incoming parts; check for damage or missing items
- Process goods receipts and store all items safely and correctly
- Manage returns of damaged or faulty items, including warranty claims
- Process part requests and place orders with suppliers
- Track, record and follow up on parts sent for repair
- Carry out daily cycle counts and stock takes; maintain accurate stock records
- Monitor stock levels using Min/Max settings and part history to ensure availability
- Track urgent or overdue deliveries with suppliers
- Identify and resource alternative parts to reduce costs and improve efficiency
- Record all cost savings achieved
- Optimise warehouse layout for safe and efficient storage
What You’ll Bring
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar stores/stock control role
- Experience using a CMMS system and knowledge of FIFO & Min/Max principles
- Strong computer skills and high attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing and negotiation skills
- Analytical mindset with a proven ability in lean manufacturing, supply chain planning and forecasting
- Ability to prioritise, work efficiently, and manage workload in a busy environment
- Physically fit, capable of lifting/moving heavy items
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime
Education & Additional Requirements
- Leaving Certificate
- Forklift licence (an advantage)
