Hygiene Shift Manager (Nights)

Department: Hygiene/Operations
Reports to: Unit Hygiene Manager
About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and organised Hygiene Shift Manager to lead our nightshift hygiene team. You’ll make sure the factory is cleaned safely and thoroughly each night so production can start smoothly every morning. This role is key in maintaining our high standards of food safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Hygiene Operations
- Oversee the nightly cleaning of all production and packing areas.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed correctly, safely, and on schedule.
- Carry out pre-production hygiene checks to verify standards are met.
- Work closely with Production and Quality teams to resolve any issues.
- Record and report any deviations or concerns during the shift.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, guide and motivate the hygiene team.
- Plan staff rotas to ensure appropriate cover each night.
- Provide training on cleaning methods, chemical handling and food safety.
- Foster a positive, safety focused, team-oriented environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in hygiene or cleaning management within a food factory (meat/poultry preferred).
- Strong understanding of food hygiene, cleaning processes and safety requirements.
- Proven experience leading a team in a busy production environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confident using computer systems (email, Word, Excel).
- A team player with a flexible, positive attitude.
- Strong relationship building and communications skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and high standards.
- Strong attention to detail, initiative and accountability.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
