Assistant Process Engineer
Job Role
As Assistant Process Engineer, you will support the Process Engineer and wider Engineering team in maintaining, improving, and optimizing production processes and equipment performance across the site.
You will play a key role in ensuring that all engineering activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality, food safety, and environmental standards. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic food manufacturing environment while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, project delivery, and problem-solving on the production floor.
You will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Health & Safety teams to ensure production processes run smoothly and efficiently, supporting the achievement of site performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Support process improvement initiatives and equipment optimisation projects.
Monitor equipment performance, assist with maintenance planning, and track work orders.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for process or equipment issues.
Assist with SOP updates, GMP compliance, and quality audits.
Support cost-saving initiatives, energy efficiency, and maximising equipment uptime.
Provide technical support to Production and collaborate with Quality, H&S, and Engineering teams.
Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
1–3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment (food industry experience advantageous).
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; CMMS experience is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
