Forklift Driver
To ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of forklifts within the Lairage area, supporting the safe handling of livestock-related materials, supplies, and equipment.
The role is critical to maintaining high standards of animal welfare, safety, and operational flow within Manor Farm.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in line with training and company procedures.
Load, unload, and transfer supplies into and out of the lairage.
Maintain lairage areas in a clean, organised, and safe condition, supporting animal welfare requirements.
Assist in the preparation of equipment and facilities to meet operational needs.
Complete daily equipment checks, routine refuelling, and report any faults or maintenance issues immediately.
Ensure all records, paperwork, and digital logs are completed accurately and on time.
Comply fully with Manor Farm’s policies on Health & Safety, Food Safety, Hygiene, and Animal Welfare.
Support colleagues and supervisors to achieve smooth workflow across lairage and logistics operations.
Undertake additional reasonable duties as required to meet business needs.
Key Skills & Competencies
Valid forklift licence (counterbalance essential; reach truck desirable).
Previous forklift or material handling experience, preferably in agriculture, logistics, or food processing.
Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with livestock.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team.
Flexible and adaptable to operational requirements.
Essential Requirements
Valid forklift certification.
Good standard of English (spoken and written).
Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Willingness to work in environments associated with live animals.
