Engineering Supervisor
JOB OBJECTIVE
As Engineering Supervisor, you are fully in charge of all engineering operations in the factory (when on shift). You will drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity, compliance and regulatory requirements and cost improvements that will add value to the site.
As Engineering Supervisor, you will carefully balance the need to motivate the team with the need to implementmanagement decisions and initiatives, not all of which will be popular. You will be a valuable support 3 Process Engineers in achieve uptime in their respective areas. You will lead a team of skilled engineers and
apprentices for the purpose of optimising the day to day and running of all production departments within the business. As engineering Supervisor, you will lead the Re-active side of the business and support any gaps in your shift when team members are sick or on annual leave. You will represent the Management team when you are the most senior engineer on site including evening, nights and weekends.
As Engineering Supervisor you will work closely and collaboratively with the Production, Health & Safety and Quality functions and other support functions across the business to ensure the production element of the supply chain is always optimised You will also be responsible and fully accountable for all day to day, week to week engineering KPI, targets and plans with in engineering as laid out to you by your manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance
1. Drive Lean /Continuous Improvement /Optimisation initiatives - using lean tools including A3 problem solving.
2. Liaise with Internal stakeholders, External Engineering Personnel and Third-party service providers.
3. Supporting the Head of Engineering manager to deliver the asset management strategy including
implementation & asset life-cycle-management of all our process equipment.
4. Lead and improve the “day to day” and long-term improvement of our CMMS system ensuring timely
completion of engineering PMs scheduled work tasks, keeping on top of workload and backlog.
5. Support the People development plan on all equipment – by assisting the process engineers to
develop training strategy for the engineering team members and support and deliver these
development plans.
6. Achieve agreed engineering KPI’s, including increasing uptime, minimising downtime and other
targets.
7. Ensure facilities are always fit for purpose.
8. Forward planning with Production to ensure the timely completion of preventative maintenance
schedules.
9. Ensure spare parts are ordered and available when needed.
10. Input and contribute constructively, all known views, to the Head of Engineering, from a safety and
wellbeing compliance perspective and all process, product and people flow on all investment related
items and engage collaboratively cross functionally, on a smooth handover, of new processes into
production.
11. Ensure committed savings are achieved in a timely manner and any obstacles in doing so escalated.
Cost

materials, labor, yield and productivity.

1. Support the Quality team, jointly lead the delivery of a real GMP culture in production.
2. Ensure timely follow up on associated audits.
3. Ensure the quality of our assets are maintained above-required levels.

REQUIRMENTS
Experience
◾ 3-5 years experience in working in FMCG environment
◾ Experience in the Live Food Operations sector (Desirable)
Education
◾ Recognised Trade electrical / Mechanical
◾ Degree or higher in relevant 3rd level, engineering (Desirable)

About Manor Farm
Carton Bros founded way back in 1775 when it began trading in the Dublin Markets is home to the long established Manor Farm chicken brand. Originally in those heady days nearly 250 years ago, chickens would be brought from the farmyards all around the country to the Dublin Markets and Carton’s would sell them on. In later years people would send their live chickens on the train marked for Carton’s of Dublin where they would then be sold and the money would be sent back to the Farmers by return (less a commission of course). That was and is Real Trust.
